Geochemical & Environmental Research Group (GERG) is organized as three interrelated groups working together to provide wide ranging capabilities including field acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of data across several different interlocking themes in resource geosciences, environmental sciences, and ocean sciences.

Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) is an international marine research program that explores Earth's history and structure recorded in seafloor sediments and rocks, and monitors subseafloor environments.

Texas Sea Grant College Program promotes and sponsors research, education and outreach programs aimed at the wise utilization and conservation of the nation's coastal and marine resources in order to develop and maintain a sustainable economy and a healthy environment.
